Port Blair, July 11: Continuing with the strict vigil and drive against encroachments carried out over Government lands, the officials of the South Andaman District Administration carried out eviction against such encroachments in Garacharma village (Attampahar) and at Shyam Nagar village in Swaraj Dweep under Port Blair Tehsil and at Kadakachang and Brindaban village under Ferrargunj Tehsil and a total area of 11510 sq. mtrs of Government land was restored to its original status.

He was a quite but a brave soul who relished the simple pleasures of life and drew insights about life from them. His life though short was very meaningful which has made an incredible mark in the lives of many. His boundless talents will be sorely missed. Port Blair, July 11: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,84,135 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,596 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 24,652 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 28,263.

Port Blair, July 11: Fourteen positives cases have been detected today of which 9 were from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 9 flights with 1284 passengers arrived, out of which, 1142 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 104 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Port Blair, July 8: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to organize State Level ‘Open’ annual sports events in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, like ‘Khelo India’, so that raw talents can be identified at the very young age and the youths and children can be trained right from tender age so that they can be properly trained for national and international level sports events.
